Fitness Assessment
How physically fit are you? Before beginning any exercise program it is extremely important to consult with your family physician. After receiving medical clearence, it is important to assess your fitness level. A fitness assessment consists of establishing your present condition in a number of areas including the heart rate, blood pressure, body weight, body fat percentage, measurements, flexibility, lean body weight, etc.
It is important to know the results of your fitness assessment because it is easier to determine your fitness goals based on this information. If you do not know where you are to start, you won't know where you want to go. Another reason to have an assessment done on a regular basis is to provide motivation when you see progress from one assessment to the other. By comparing these numbers, you can determine what part of your training program is working and what might need to be tweaked or changed.
